This workshop is being provided virtually only.  This session will be a live-stream held via Zoom.

 

MHCA Members - $125/person

Non Members - $250/person

 

This state-required and MO Department of Health & Senior Services-approved workshop is designed to prepare registered and licensed nurses to supervise nurse assistant students during their required on-the-job experience.


Criteria for a Clinical Supervisor:

  • Registered professional nurse or a licensed practical nurse currently licensed in MO or have a temporary permit from the MO State Board of Nursing
  • Currently employed by the facility where the students are performing their duties or by the agency conducting the course
  • Shall be on facility premises in which the students are performing their duties while the students are completing on-the-job training and shall directly assist students in their training and observe their skills when checking competencies
  • The clinical supervisor shall have at least one (1) year of experience in long-term care if not currently employed by a long-term care facility
  • You must fill out the Instructor/Clinical Supervisor Missouri State Registry Form

Instructor

Shellie Goodin, RN, MSN, MBA – Shellie Goodin has practiced nursing since 1994.  She graduated from the University of MO Columbia earning a BSN and Clarkson College earning a MSN.  She also earned her MBA in Health Care Management from William Woods University. She has worked in the areas of long-term care, rehabilitation, surgical, dialysis, and obstetrics.  She has joined the staff at MHCA as the Director of Clinical and Quality Services.  She retired after 26 years as an instructor for Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, MO, where she served in Practical Nursing and Health Science Education. She taught UAP classes for University Hospital for approximately 10 years and serves as a Content Expert in Health Science Areas for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She has been active in CNA education for the Department of Health and Senior Services and is a test observer for TMU (Headmaster).
